EDUCATION IMPACT PROGRAM

The problem

All over the world, girls face disproportionate barriers to education.

Approximately 773 million people cannot read, with almost two thirds of those individuals being women and girls, keeping them trapped in poverty and holding them back from fulfilling their potential.

Our impact

The profit from every RIPL Tech Bag and Tote Bag is used to fund a week of education for a girl in an under-resourced community, helping to keep them in school and provide a path out of poverty.

1 RIPL bag = 1 week of education

Our partner

It's made possible through our partnership with Room to Read. They work in low-income communities that have limited access to learning resources, and set up programs that support children as they develop into lifelong learners, breaking the cycle of illiteracy within their own families.

The ripple effect

Each additional year of secondary school is estimated to boost a girl’s future earnings by nearly 20%. But your impact doesn't end with a week of school. The Girls' Education Program ensures that girls build the skills to negotiate key life decisions through one-on-one mentoring and life skills classes.

Success spotlight

Girls who are married off young are much more likely to suffer domestic violence and be prevented from finding employment.

But thanks to the programs that you support, mentors are able to help girls negotiate themselves out of a forced marriage and achieve jobs that they never thought possible.

They go on to impact the lives of their families and other girls in their communites, changing social norms and the lives of their peers.
